Course Description
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, include community and workplace settings. This is the advised minimum requirement by Workplace Health & Safety Legislation for the workplace first aider.

Pre-requisites
Participants must be over 14 years and have basic English speaking and writing skills in order to undertake this course and complete the assessments. Completion of the online eLearning package is required prior to attendance of the practical day, with evidence of successful completion provided to the trainer at the practical day. All participants MUST be physically capable of performing 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin on the floor.
Course Duration and Assessment
Practical session of 7.5 hours with appropriate scenario based assessments throughout the day
The online eLearning workbook package, including a multiple choice assessment completed PRIOR to attending the practical day
The online eLearning workbook challenge assessment to refresh your knowledge, including a multiple choice assessment completed PRIOR to attending the practical day
Certification and Materials Provided
Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment (by Healthcorp RTO 91222) for:
HLTAID003 Provide first aid
Participants will receive an emailed copy of certificate upon successful completion PLUS a coloured certificate and complementary replica plastic wallet card.
Throughout all courses we use high quality manikins (Adult, child and infant), defibrillators, training anaphylaxis auto-injectors, asthma bronchodilator prop with child and adult spacers, bandages and slings.
